    Suit purchase

My suits are getting old and really don't fit too well anymore. Any suggestions on a good place to shop for new ones? Price vs. quality vs. selection?

This last summer, I bought 2 new, and very nice suits at S&K Men's wear. Very good service as well.

Make sure you buy wool suits and not the cheap poly blends.

    Re: Suit purchase

Men's warehouse has been great to me in Des Moines. I buy 10-15 suits a year, as I wear them everyday. I have bought from JC Penny's, Dillards, Younkers. All of those suits are nice and fit me right off the rack. You can catch some good sales at those places. For the money I would use Men's warehouse. The suits I buy there last a little longer and don't cost a helluva alot more.

    Re: Suit purchase

Caveat: I don't know how they compare for price.

That said, I actually love buying a suit from Men's Warehouse. I am by no means rich or know what the "cool suit" is, but they treat me like any other person in there. They measure you up, fit you, and talk to you like you are the best customer they could ever have even though they probably know that isn't the case.

For me, Men's Warehouse. No other place even comes close.

    Re: Suit purchase

My first two suits I ever bought were from S&K. The rest have been from Men's Warehouse. I agree that for your money, go Men's Warehouse. I also buy my dress shoes there, most comfortable dress shoes I have ever tried on.

I haven't bought a suit in a while, but I bought a couple of what I feel are very nice suits from S&K as well.

    Re: Suit purchase

I plan on getting a couple suits here in the ME, before I go back. Prices are crazy affordable, the cloth is top notch, and it's custom tailored as labor is basically free.

They have some *interesting* ideas about style, but do good work on conservative suits, as well. I'm not really a "suit" kind of guy, normally.

    Re: Suit purchase

I would support the Men's Wearhouse in Des Moines recommendation. I got a couple suits there 10 years ago and they are still in great shape.

    Re: Suit purchase

Thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like Men's Wearhouse and S&K are the consensus picks.

Im not a big suit wearer, but when I have needed some shirts and suits I have gone there. Reasonable prices and great service. Excellent products as well.
