I'm starting to resent my dog
Just have to get this off my chest. The time change is kicking my ***. My beagle wakes up at about the same time I do, but after a quick trip outside, she curls up in her bed on the couch. Yes, the bed is not soft enough, so her bed is on the couch to give her that little bit of extra comfort that she needs . So while I am heading off to work, she is curled up in her bed, on the couch, with a blanket. Anyway, thanks for listening. -
Re: I'm starting to resent my dog
Should have got a German Short Hair, except my two are curled up in bed with my wife. They will probably be there until 9am or so when she goes to the gym and feeds the two. After eating they will be back to bed and get up to around noon when I come home for lunch and they get to play for 30 min or so.

My dogs go outside once I wake up and they stay outside no matter what the weather conditions are until I go to bed.
It amazes me how many bones they find during the course of the day.
And they are always eager to run with me in the evening.
I have no resentment towards my two dogs.

I love my dogs, but I wish I could stay home with them and nap all day!
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -
Re: I'm starting to resent my dog
My beagle is the devil... She hates me (and gives me an earful every time I tell her "no"), but loves my wife. Of course, I won't let her up on the couch, while my wife does. And when she is on the couch, she sleeps on top of the extra cushy back cushions as the normal cushions aren't apparently soft enough. She watches tv, howls at any animal that appears on the screen and/or anything monster like. We typically have to throw a blanket over her head so she'll stop watching and go to sleep. She is definitely my first and last beagle... (she doesn't hold a candle to my border collie/pit bull mix).

Both my dogs are Border Collie/Heeler (one is 75% Border and 25% Heeler while the other is 50/50). Border Collies and Heelers are my two favorite dog breeds so I figured why not get a dog that combines the best of both breeds.
And I've not been disappointed to date. They are incredibly active and intelligent dogs.

Re: I'm starting to resent my dog
You should think about getting rid of your dog and giving it to someone that would truly care about it.

Hmmm.... doggie snuggies... I might be on to something here.

Re: I'm starting to resent my dog
A lot of this can be fixed by realizing you're a human and its a dog.

Re: I'm starting to resent my dog
You may be starting to resent your dog, but I have a hate/hate relationship with the family cat. Claire hates me, and I hate her.
