Well, at least one of the failing banks / insurance companies didn't buy the naming rights with our bailout money...

This probably would've been a bargain compared to them. Reason #2847 they are failing.
(did it say anywhere if they had to buy naming rights? I wonder if it wasn't an incentive to get them to move in there. I've heard the Tower is rather empty)

Willis Holding is an insurance brokerage entity, formerly Willis- Corroon - before that Corroon & Black, et al...
They placed much business with AIG back in the mid-1980's when I was there and I don't imagine that's probably changed. Willis places business with AIG; AIG pays Willis commissions with which they purchase naming rights to Sears Tower; federal government bails out AIG (though it was never their insurance operations that got them into financial difficulties)....
