Re: 32 Most Commonly Misused Words and Phrases
I will be honest, I always screw this one up: 2. Affect/Effect- The way you “affect” someone can have an “effect” on them. “Affect” is usually a verb and “Effect” is a noun.
I do not use either word anymore.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775 -

I would like to add "supposively" and "supposebly" to the list, both of which drive me crazy.

I'll be honest too. I didn't know this. 3. Alright- If you use “alright,” go to the chalkboard and write “Alright is not a word” 100 times

7. Could Of- Of the 32 mistakes on this list, this is the one that bothers me most. It’s “could have” not “could of.” When you hear people talking, they’re saying “could’ve.” Got it?
This one gets abused badly on here, and it is infuriating. -

16. Inflammable- Don’t let the prefix confuse you, if something is inflammable it can catch on fire
Inflammable means flammable? Who knew? It's Bushbama!

Re: 32 Most Commonly Misused Words and Phrases
I would add, "I could not care less" Most people forget the "not" and just say, "I could care less" not really expressing the intended meaning.

Re: 32 Most Commonly Misused Words and Phrases
Any list without irregardless is incomplete. It is just regardless.
I couldn't find the clip on youtube but Stewie threatens to consign anyone who uses irregardless to a work camp. I think of that every time I read or hear someone say irregardless.
