    I watched The Fountain

I wish I didn't. That ripped DVD is now a coaster.

I liked it. It's a bit cerebral, and parts of it went over even my head, but overall I thought it was decent.

There was a reason Brad Pitt walked off the set. Now I know why.

    very indifferent to it.

I really liked the director's follow-up The Wrestler
    Carrying the banner for ISU.

Its artistic indulgence at its worst. I heard the tree is supposed to represent time or human existence or the tree of life. It bored my eyeballs out

    Re: I watched The Fountain

Yeah, had some kinda cool parts but overall a little long on imagery and short on story. I guess I didn't mind it, but certainly won't be watching it again any time soon.

It is all supposed to be based on Budhism. So apparently you have to be Buddhist to really get all of the hidden meanings in the movie. Of course, the last time I checked, Buddhists don't watch many (or any) movies, so maybe that wasn't a good idea.
