Dating Question for guys
This is a question for guys: when you are going out with a girl and having a good time, do you pay all cost (dinner, movie, etc) every time for the girl, or do you share the cost with the girl? I am going out with this girl and like her, but she seems to expect me pay everything.

Re: Dating Question for guys
The last girl I was hanging out with wouldn't let me pay for everything all the time.

Re: Dating Question for guys
First few times I have no problem paying for all. After that.......this is 2009. If she expects you to pay every time, all the time......man, I'd have an issue with that. I would hope she at least offers sometimes.

Unless she specifically offers to pay for something (without you 'nudging' her towards asking), then you should expect to pay for everything. In some cases, if she asked you out on a date, then you might expect her to pay. If you're doing the asking, you definitely pay for it all, and it's your privilege to do so. As the relationship develops, perhaps she'll start offering to pay for something, but that's not something you should request of her, IMO. (I'm slightly old-school.)
That said, I haven't run into many women at all who don't offer to pay for something after the first few dates.

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

Re: Dating Question for guys
When I was dating my wife (granted this was about 5-10 years ago) I always paid for everything. Now she's a CPA and makes about 40% more than I do, so I consider it even.

Re: Dating Question for guys
That's the bonus of dating when you are older. Older gals almost always insist on paying half. I've never had a problem picking up the tab though. -

Find someone with a lot of money so you dont have to pay all the time. I know I don't and she makes almost twice as much as I do :)

Re: Dating Question for guys
I always pick up the entire tab when I take a girl out. If she offers to pay I'll tell her no because I probably asked her out and not vice versa. You don't ask someone to go out with you but make them spend their own money in my opinion.

I just always wore shorts with no pockets, oh sorry I don't have my wallet.

Re: Dating Question for guys
You guys are all avoiding the most obvious question. Are you getting any?
If so, continue to pay. If not, move on.

Re: Dating Question for guys
WHen I was dating my now wife in HS and College, I went out expecting to pay, but every once in a while she would offer and I took her up on it.

Re: Dating Question for guys
I like to be straight up with the girl. At the beginning of the date I tell her, "Look, lady (sometimes I use their name), if this date is going to be enjoyable for both of us, I'm going to expect you to pay for everything. In return, I will entertain you all night with comedy and magic. If this doesn't sit well with you, there's the door (and I point to the door of the diner)."
Oh, whenever I go on a date, I ALWAYS meet them at the local diner by my house, by the way. I think it sets a good tone for the evening, and there is always some serious strange in there in case my "date" doesn't take my offer.

How long have you been single now?
But I like your style.

Re: Dating Question for guys
Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I believe the man should always pay. If you asked her out that is 100%. If she asked you out, I would still pay, but I suppose in this day and age if she initiated the date, she could pick up the tab.
