Huckabee replaces Paul Harvey
Its official, former Pres. Candidate Mike Huckabee will be Paul Harvey's replacement for ABC. Thoughts?

Re: Huckabee replaces Paul Harvey
Everything I would have to say in this thread would be contrived as political and probably cause this thread to be shut down due to my conservative views. So in respect of your thread I will remain silent and say that even though someone may claim to replace Harvey, they will never truly compare to him.

I think it should be Howard Dean.
Instead of ending "Paul Harvey, good day!"
It would end...

Re: Huckabee replaces Paul Harvey
i loved Mr Harveys voice, but it about put me to sleep. but since i never listen to radio news, i really couldnt care any less.

You can never fully replace a legend. Huck definitely has the same political views as Harvey but I see a Drew Carey/Bob Barker situation here.
Does any station still play Paul Harvey in Iowa?

Does any station still play Paul Harvey in Iowa? I think KAYL in Storm Lake still plays (or played) it.

Re: Huckabee replaces Paul Harvey
Is this an official replacement for Paul Harvey or just an addition for ABC Radio? It looks like Huckabee is getting two 3-minute reports a day. Paul Harvey was on for like 10 or 15 minutes at least once--maybe twice--a day. Plus he had The Rest of the Story which was another like 3 to 5 minutes, I think.

Does any station still play Paul Harvey in Iowa? 98.6 does at 1:00
96.5 does at noon
101.1 does at noon or so
Thats an odd choice. I figured Huck would run for pres again.

I don't agree with him politically, but I still think Huckabee's a good guy, so I'm fine with this.

Pretty much my sentiments, seems like a really great guy who most likely will do a good job. Just hope no one expect him to fully replace a legend, because those things just don't happen. If you are always waiting for the next _______ you will be waiting quite sometime. On an Iowa State level it can kinda get to me everytime someone says the next Seneca Wallace or next Marcus Fizer. They were a couple of our greats and they were each one of a kind.

Re: Huckabee replaces Paul Harvey
Huckabee is cut from the same cloth, but there will never be another Paul Harvey. Huckabee will probably do fine on his own, as long as he doesn't try too hard to be like Harvey.
