Please learn to put your weather alerts in with the HD signal like KCCI. This way I can watch Heroes in hi-def goodness.

I remember last year weather alerts screwed up the HD during Knight Rider... in the 4 minutes I watched it before I realized it sucked hard.

Is this when the HD goes away so a littlee blurb can show up and then HD comes back when the blurb is gone? There is one ****** station that does that here too. And with inconsequential crap like a temp ad for childrens hosptial. If they can do those and not screw up my picture they should definitely figure it out soon.

We have the same problem over here, but it's KWWL (NBC) that has the signal correct when they put something across and the other stations that don't.

Exactly. Except they do it with the weather alerts.

WOI is guilty too. KCCI is the only one that has managed to get it right so far. Kind of funny that WHO built up being the first Iowa channel to shoot things in HD yet they can't figure out their signal.

It's not a big deal. It's pretty rare for Iowa to have any severe weather that would require weather alerts.

Yeah it was most frustrating when they weren't showing any of the weather updates anymore and it still wasn't HD...get a clue! Flip on the HD switch!

Also, why do they need to interupt the programming to show the maps. KCCI has a dedicated 24/7 weather channel. If I saw on the crawler that there is a storm coming I'll switch to that to see what's going on.

There's a difference between broadcasting in HD and real-time transcoding of an in HD stream. Apparently the piece of equipment they have that does scrolls over an existing stream doesn't do them in HD.

If it was simple/cheap to do, they would have done it.
