    Allergy time

OTC Claritin non drowsy seems to do the trick. Neti pot worked for a little while but even that doesn't seem to do anything on the really bad days. Anyone else have any other solutions?
Yesterday was horrible and today is the worst its been in a long time. I went onto weather.com and at the top of the page-

    Re: Allergy time

I've found the drowsy stuff works best for me, like Benadryl. I only have allergies in the fall though thankfully.

I thought my body was going to completely shut down after running this morning. Couldn't tell if it was allergies or if I am getting sick, either way this sucks!

Colds and flu are hitting folks hard now too. You may have some touch of that on top of allergies.

For OTC, Claritin did a nice job for me. But alas, it was just a gateway drug. It still helps me more than anything OTC, but it doesn't totally get the job done. I've graduated on to Nasonex and haven't looked back. That stuff totally eliminates my symptoms with no side effects that I have experienced. Good stuff if you need something a little stronger.

    Re: Allergy time

This isn't so much the time of year I deal with the sneezing or sniffles, but it is the time of year when my eczema pops up (the doctor told me it's allergy-related). I go one week without taking my Allegra (because I ran out and got too busy to stop by the drugstore and get some) and the blisters began showing up on my hands and feet. Now it consistently feels like I've got something in between my toes - oh well, hydrocortizone is going to be my best friend for the next several weeks...
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

    Re: Allergy time

I don't have allergies until late May-early June. Then Claritin leftover from my dad's allergies come in handy.

One thing I try to do to stay ahead of allergies is use (OTC) saline spray on a regular basis. Helps keep the sinus infections at bay and keeps the sinuses "clean."

I agree with this. Its amazing how I can be congested and do a saline rinse..10-15 minutes later I feel relief. Its not as instant as Afrin, but its a more natural approach. Usually after afrin wears off I feel stuffier than I did before. With the saline rinse thing I dont get that.

    Re: Allergy time

Claritin is crap in my opinion, my doctor even said it wasn't worth my time. Zyrtec is now OTC and it has changed my life, seriously. It's more expensive than Claritin, but for good reason.
Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?
