Just since I saw this today and we've got an 'odd car' thread going here..... I posted this all on my facebook this evening
This was in the parking lot at work today. At first glance, kinda cool. Until (DUH) it hits you that someone just pimped out a Volkswagen Beetle like it was a honda civic. An oversized racing spoiler? REALLY? Mirror tinted windows? Low-profile tires and rims (which further highlights the uselessness of the racing spoiler....)?
Sigh. Herbie would be ashamed of this sell-out beetle. The (my father didn't) Love (me enough) Bug is more like it.
Who has seen the white mid-90's Chevy (Caprice?) that's rollin' on about 26" rims and low-profile tires... usually hittin' the bass pretty hard?
Waste of money, IMO.
In ames? I know there used to be a vehicle like this that lived by me on Tripp Street. I thought it was older than mid 90s though. It was very similar, but also had lamborghini-style, vertical opening doors. WASTE of money.
There is alot of work done underneath that you cannot see to make a car do that. I had a ranger at one point that could sit that low. Took tons of work to make it happen. I had to notch the frame and change the entire rear suspension setup just to make it happen. I enjoyed the work though. Can't imagine what it took to get a caddy that low though.
