Then props to you for throwing your hat into the ring and backing up the talk.

Last week they were talking about the Cutler to Chicago deal with Zubin in Denver and the head of WGN Sports in Chicago, I think his last name was Doal. Round Guys first question to both were so terrible. He asked Zubin if Kyle Orton was going to be able to wear #18, or in his words "Will he have to buy someone a Rolls Royce in a backdoor deal?" Nice question. Then he asked The guy from WGN, with his first question, "Can you comment on what Mike Ditka would think of this trade, IF he was still coaching?" Nice work RG. Good radio.
That's kind of where I was heading with my "school kids on a playground" comment, Clone 11. Is the most compelling question we can ask regarding that trade whether or not Kyle Oerton will get number-18 and if he does, what will he need to do to get it? And Mike Ditka...come on?
It is plain and simple brutal radio. Terribly brutal! I honestly tried to give it a go, but after a while enough was enough.
The shame of the past few weeks is that in spite of the fact that he was a real horses you-know-what, Marty Tirrell was very talented as a sports talk show host. He was obnoxious, over-bearing and every other expletive you can think of, but he was talented. And in spite of their differences, I always felt he and Ken worked well together. Larry Cotlar, for the most part, seemed to be able to book interesting interviews. And I've never had a problem with Jon Miller (I have two daughters, one an Iowa grad and one an Iowa State grad, so I can go either way). He comes off as a pretty down-to-earth guy and is knowledgable and in depth in his analysis.
Believe me, I am in no way trying to diminish what it takes to do a successful sports talk show. In my past life, I was in the business, so I've been there. The bottom line is though, it has got to get better than this because the national shows have, without question, worn out their welcome.
They need to move this crapola to the 1pm-2pm time slot so I can hear the additional hour of the Herd which is by far the best national sports radio show going right now.
