Friday beer thread...
I think it's in the best interest of the site if we have a weekly beer thread.
Anyhow, what's everyone drinking lately? I have finals starting monday, so I'm not imbibing much, but having a couple cold ones before bed gets me through these long days of acting like I'm studying, while wasting time on CF. I picked up the Flying Dog Canis Major mix pack at Hy-Vee on Mills Civic last night. Tried the Imperial Porter (9.2% ABV) and the Horn Dog Barley Wine (10.2% ABV) and enjoyed both. Have to give the edge to the Porter though. Although it isn't a "summer" beer by any stretch of the imagination, it was pretty tasty. Lot's of dark chocolate/espresso flavors, with a warming sensation due to the high alcohol content. Tonight/this afternoon will bring me to the Double Dog IPA (which I've had before and enjoy) and the Kerberos Tripel, which I haven't had yet.

I had a Blue Moon after biking Wednesday night. But only because the Amber Boch keg was out.
Tasty.....
And I had a Boulevard Wheat at the I-Cubs last Friday - only because the Cub Club doesn't have Amber Boch on tap.
(I don't experiment much with beer)

Boddingtons Pub Ale
It's an English bitter ale that is really smooth and creamy.

Anyone ever tried this: Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier? Tried it in KC a few months ago and loved it! It is a bit expensive though... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/252/731/ -

Tonight is gonna be gross beer night. Im gonna try to get through the 2 six packs of olde main that i bought earlier this week, which is some of the worst stuff ive ever had, and then hit the rest of the "new" old style case i bought last week. Not looking forward to tomorrow morning.

Are You Worthy?
I just finished prepping my boat for a weekend on the water and just popped the cap on my first Arrogant Bastard! Great beer but not for everyone!

Re: Friday beer thread...
I've been sticking to homebrew lately. I have to get some bitter drank before it comes time to keg my latest APA.
The wife picked up the canis major pack as well the other day. I liked all of it, really. The Gonzo is very solid.

The hub picked up a few things from John's Grocery in IC last weekend, one being the Ommegang bottle-conditioned ale. That was darn tasty.
My favorite by far is the Left Hand Milk Stout. I had a Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout last weekend, too. I hadn't had one of those since People's closing party.

I'll be getting a 12-pack of landshark tonight to relax before finals. H.U.C.A.C-- We're here to ____ ____ up! -

Southren Tier's wheat was also consumed by me recently. Very good, light wheat with hops that reminded me of a pale ale. Interesting, but effective mix.
