Any luck in central Iowa yet?
I took the grandkids out on Sunday - no luck.
I went through a timber area close to a river that had been flooded out and did not find a single one. But I don't know if a flooded area would help or hurt the mushrooms, anybody know?
I went Sunday to a couple of different places and didn't find a single one either. I thought they would be out. Going to try again Wednesday or maybe Thursday, since the temps are warming a bit, and it looks like we'll get some more moisture.
I have heard different things about flooded areas. Some say they won't grow there and others claim that they have. I don't have any direct experience.
It should help as long as it isnt flooded anymore and doesnt keep flooding.
Another thing to look for is burn areas. They grow well after burns, which is more pertinent out west, but you never know.
