    Wow........how exactly do you go about taking a picture of the sun without it totally screwing with your image? My camera can't handle it if the sun is in the general vicinity of the background.

    I would guess you need some pretty heavy filtering to take a shot like that.

    Probably not advisable for everyone to go out with their zoom lenses trying to shoot the sun.

    This is about as realistic as the moon landing. It was probably shot in hollywood as well.

    You just need to proper filters. My uncle was an astrophysicist and had a telescope that we could use to look at the sun. Very cool when you are a kid and he is showing you solar prominences.

    Seeing these shots never gets old.

    There was one taken in Boston about 2 1/2 years ago as the ISS and Atlantis(?) flew over and also was transiting the sun. It ws incredibly hi-res to the point you could make out individual structures on the ISS and see the shuttle pretty clearly.

    Trying to find it now...
