I've been wanting more of the battle scenes with the machines and thought T3 would do that but it didn't. This one had great action scenes, and its amazing how good they've gotten with the CGI of the bots. I thought the storyline was good too in the way it tied the other movies in. The very ending was a bit lame, though. The ending was only lame because towards the end you could see it coming a mile away.
You know what bugged me though? I get that the infiltrator terminators need to be human like...but why the hell are all of these other regular machines all human shaped? Wouldn't that be a really inefficient design for killer robots?

Re: Terminator: Salvation
I havn't seen star trek yet but really liked terminator. For everybody that didn't like it I'm not sure what you were expecting. It was a war movie with robots. Not exactly oscar winning material to start with. If you want to go to a movie with a decent story line and have a half assed understanding of who John Conner is supposed to be you should like the movie. If you go in cold never knowing who Connor is supposed to be you'll probably hate it.

It felt just a little matrix 3ish to me, and I didn't care for that movie. I thought the acting for Marcus was actually better than John Conner.

Re: Terminator: Salvation
Well if you wanted to think about it the whole concept of the matrix is really a terminator rip off. Machines and Man in a war for survival?

Re: Terminator: Salvation
The movie was alright, but for the most part, if you have swapped out the T-600 exos with regular robot it could have been a standalone movie. The tie-ins to the Terminator storyline were mostly superficial. Definitely full of action though if that's what you're after.
As far as needing to see the rest of the movies, I'm not so sure that's required. Seems like most of what was going on could have been explained to someone in a few minutes. Alot of it was set up by the cassette tapes too.

There were little things that would have been cooler if you had seen them or remembered who some of the other characters were.

That's been the "go-to" Sci-fi storyline for a long time now, Blade Runner, Matrix, Terminator, Battlestar Galactica, etc. Makes for some good "What does it mean to be human?" drama, plus tons of battles with bad-*** robots. That right there is just a winning combination.

Re: Terminator: Salvation
Is Christian Bale going to use his Batman voice in all of his movies now?
I liked Terminator but I wished the plot would have been a little different and maybe focused on the war against the machines on a larger scale.
