star trek > terminator.... alot >
As some one who is not really a fan of either and hasn't really seen or cared to remember the old ones before them, is there anything I can get from seeing either star trek or terminator? Are they really good movies or are they worthless to see without being a follower?
I'll see Terminator tomorrow, so I can't answer that one yet.
Star Trek was very accessible. I didn't watch much of the original series, but I thought this movie was very good. They did a very nice job of providing some character and background to the characters in the film. I'd recommend it.
If you only go to see one, make it Star Trek. It was better, and Terminator would be easier to follow if you know the backstory.
I just wasn't impressed by Terminator. The action sequences were great, but just didn't quite make it to the bar that Star Trek set.
Haven't seen it yet but tomorrow I will. Many critics are harsh on it because it sounds like prior knowledge is needed. Why so many their profession have not seen the first three is beyond me, but I am not worried. Seen all three about 500 times each. -No Fate
Nothing will match T2. At the time, that flick was as good as it gets.
My brother watched the behind-the-scenes for that on HBO way back in 1991.
When they filmed the scene where they blew up the Cyberdyne building, one of the cameramen (who really was filming) turned to Cameron and said something like, "Jim, were we supposed to be rolling?"
I guess Cameron flipped out, and the camera guy loved every minute of it.
Its too bad they could not get Cameron on board to direct the last two terminator movies. The first two that he made were GREAT. Terminator has a really good story line and he did a fantastic job with it. T3 was a bad movie, but I have not seen T4 yet.
I enjoyed T3, but I agree that it's not at the level of those first two. Of course, not many of these action movies are.
Cameron had a better handle on this story than most anyone they could have found for it. It is too bad that he's not making these movies anymore.
Yahoo had a article about the Terminator series the other day. James Cameron origanally thought of using OJ Simpson as the part of the Terminator. He didn't because he thought that OJ was too nice of a guy and nobody would believe him in the role of a ruthless killer.
