    What Gives You Chills?

    Got this idea from the Sad/Emotional song thread.

    What gives you chills when you think about it, hear it, or see it?

    For me, when I hear the national anthem it gives me chills, as does Taps.

    When we play concerts, and we play all 5 military service songs towards the end. And we have all the vets stand up when their song is played so they can be recognized. All sizes, sexes, and ages out there standing. Watching some of those older men struggle to stand up, but do so while singing their song with pride....gets me every time. and I let it.

    I hate seeing friends/family cry. I'm not a terribly emotional person, but when I see somebody close to me that is also not typically emotional cry, it gets to me.

    TAPS does that as well, as well as movies such as the end of Rudy, Hoosiers, and even Tin Cup. But, those are a different type of chill, I guess...

    I'll show my nerd-dom with this one...
    A great drum corps show (for those few who know what i'm talking about here... Phantom Regiment 08, Carolina Crown 07\08 .
    The music during the whole opening scenes of the new star trek, with Jim Kirk being born, his father sacrificing himself... just great.. (and oddly enough i heard it in a promotional thing for a drum corps today)
