    Weber Grill or Smoker?

I am getting a charcoal grill soon. Going old school after 20 years of gas grilling. Leaning towards a Weber over a horizontal smoker that I could use as a grill as well.

Any opinions about the Weber 22.5 Gold vs Silver models other than price? Any one smoke meat in their Weber?

I just threw down on the One Touch Gold a few weeks ago. Always been a Weber charcoal guy. The only thing about the price was that the Gold had the Ash Catcher and you could regulate the air movement more with that. Welcome back!

Depends on what you want to do. I've had both but prefer the weber for everyday use, incredibly efficient

I love my Weber. I'm trying to decide what to cook on it today... Something out of the ordinary... Any suggestions?

If you are going with charcoal, look at the Big Green Egg before you buy a weber. I love mine. biggreenegg.com

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

I was at Hy Vee the other day on 35th in WDM - and they had large pork loins on sale....

I was out mowing my yard in WDM on Thursday evening and a "Big Green Egg" truck went by my house. I wonder if they're doing some sort of promo around here this week(end)?

Might be worthwhile doing some searching and maybe score a deal. Can you smoke with those? Or are they strictly more of a grill?

Big Green Egg. My life would be hollow and joyless without it.

That is a LARGE Big Green Egg. They retail from between $600 - $800.
They are not cheap, but look at it as a life-long investment in orgasm inducing BBQ.

Lifetime warranty. It's the last grill/smoker you will ever buy.

Wow! Maybe when I next move I can wrap it up in the new mortgage...

That's an aweful lot to drop. Especially since I have a relatively new grill as it is.

But I won't lie. My mouth started watering at the picture you put up....

The key to me is the low heat and lots of smoke. You can do this on a weber/smoker/green egg.
I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.
