Finally, new HD channels on Mediacom!
Mediacom adding more digital, HD channels in Iowa | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register
Looks like today is the day. I'll believe it when I see Discovery HD on cable, finally. I've been waiting so long for Discovery and Food Network in HD.

People still watch Mediacom? Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -

I like new HD channels, but I hate it when they move channels around.

Re: Finally, new HD channels on Mediacom!
Wow, 27 HD channels! Only 75 more and they'll be caught up with DirecTV!

Re: Finally, new HD channels on Mediacom!
I wouldn't have a problem with Mediacom having so few HD channels if they were actually cheaper. When I realized that I could get so much more content for roughly the same price the choice was pretty easy.

I had been getting my cable and internet through Mediacom when I realized I could switch to DirecTV and Qwest for internet, get about 100 more channels (many of them in HD), and pay the same amount.

I realized that awhile ago, but found with the location of my apartment that I couldn't get a satellite. I'm now moving to another apartment in the complex, across the lot, and will now face south, and have the ability to get a satellite. Needless to say, July 1 can't get here soon enough so I can have it put in.

Re: Finally, new HD channels on Mediacom!
I may be snobbish about it but I don't think Mediacom's HD quality comes close to satellite. I saw one in CR and one in Waukee and they both looked horrible.

I don't know that I could say I had more outages with cable, but my DirecTV signal has gone out maybe half a dozen times in the year that I've had it and usually never longer than a couple of minutes. I'm willing to put up with it to get the rest of the perks. And if things get really bad, I have an antenna so I can least watch locals.
