Re: Futurama Fans -- Comedy Central orders 26 episodes
Looks like there is still a chance of a deal being worked out (From the first article posted about the voice changes), aka this could put pressure on the origional voice actors to accept less then they were asking for. This could also put pressure on Comedy Central to pay a little higher, as the fan base will not be pleased with this

I'm hoping this is just a negotiation tactic. The story I posted said they've played hardball with the voice actors for The Simpsons, and even went so far as to start casting new voice actors for that show. Hopefully this is just more of the same and everyone comes back.

In the meanwhile, it's going to be rough for the casting directors assigned to find replacement actors who have already started to receive threats from fans of the show.
Kind of sad that people will go out of their way to threaten casting directors who were just hired to do a job. I understand being a dedicated fan and all, but somewhere there is a line between entertainment and reality. And if fans really wanted to voice their displeasure, direct at the voice actors for holding out for more coin or to Comedy Central for not paying them.

You see that in some cartoons. The voices kind of grow with the characters. The guy who does Homer decided to depart from the whole Walter Matthau thing after the first season

Even sticking with the Futurama theme... Professor Farnsworth's voice evolved in the first season... it's much different in the Pilot epsidoe than it is most of the series (I forget if he changed it after the pilot or 2-3 in)
