TIA. 2 weeks? Sounds like major organ failure. I'd see a real doctor instead of coming here. Although, 90% of the people here sleep at Holiday Inn Express. -
Re: Lower back pain remedy
Last time I played golf through pain I popped a couple of vicodin (1 for the front 9 and 1 for the back nine) and washed them down with about 10 beers. Needless to say I forgot about the pain and that I was playing golf.

Are you advocating narcotics and alcohol to lessen pain?! What kind of beer?

I've gone to chiropractors my whole life off and on. Besides the fact I have seen first hand physical evidence of what they can do in the form of x-rays I can also attest that to this day I've taken no more than 10 - 15 over the counter pain drugs of any kind total.
Maybe it's also no coincidence that I've never had a flu shot and had any kind of "flu symptoms" a grand total of once or twice, but it could also be the doll that they were sticking pins into that did that or possibly the goat sacrifices...I don't know... Must be a million studies out there showing how chiropractic care can prevent the flu.
It can help with lower back pain, acupuncture can help as well but not overnight.

Re: Lower back pain remedy
Go get it popped by a Chiro. Just because they want you to go back doesnt mean you have to go back. I go a few times a year when my back is really bugging me, get everything fixed up and dont go back until I am really bad again.

Re: Lower back pain remedy
I do think chiros can be extremely helpful. I was having horrific LBP two years ago - to the point where I couldn't even bend over to get dressed without pain shooting up my back. Finally went to a chiro who said it was damage stemming from being hit by a car in HS, more than 12 years ago. After one adjustment, I could bend over with minimal pain, after 3 more, I was virtually pain-free. I also went for adjustments every two months when I was pg to help with back pain. I think that was part of the reason I was able to birth our 10lb daughter without much difficulty.
I agree that exercise and core strength also have a lot to do with easing LBP, but, IME, chiros definitely can help.

Re: Lower back pain remedy
I did Farrell's starting in January...had gotten my lower back pain manageable through chriotreatment at Steven Koester's in Urbandale...had come a long way....and after strengthening my core in just five weeks at Farrell's, my back pain has been pretty much gone...even 12 weeks after stopping it, and all exercise (had a new baby at the time Farrell's was over.)
I would suggest some exercise in addition to treatments.
