Personally, I don't see a toy store or bookstore making it in Somerset. What I would see making it is at least another restaurant or two. Maybe a seafood-bonefish grill type of place. I could easily see a sandwich shop like the West. St. Deli making it there.
I thought a liquor store would make it but Fareway might get all that business now.
Biking seems to be picking up a lot around the Ames community, so maybe a bike store?
They should lobby to relocate the whole neighborhood to the Skunk River valley by HWY 30. The city would be all over that!!
There are already a couple of bike stores in Ames, so I don't know that there is enough of a market to support another. I would say more restaurants.
The only reason I could think of bikes is because I bike out on the county roads up there and I am seeing a lot of bikes there. I just thought that they could draw a lot of people from boone/stanhope/story city areas that it might be closer to.
I'm sure those areas are probably going to give the Fareway a lot of business.
