Austrailia movies

My wife just added "Austrailia" to our netflix, so in retaliation I added "The Man from Snowy River".

(we're pretty wild - but the new kid this is about as crazy as it gets

)

Anyways, what other Aussie movie classics can we add to the queue?

The Matrix was filmed in australia. I actually lived about a block from the fountain with the original scene with the girl in the red dress.

A great movie for the kids is Whale Rider. It's made in New Zealand but it's the same general area.

Is it bad if I've never seen Mad Max? (or any of the others you listed). Pretty much everything I know about Mad Max is from references in other movies / tv shows. Its a desert, he has a gun and a car and they're fighting for fuel right?

I like most films to come out of there. One that is coming soon stars Huge Weaving. Looks very good. The guy is a fantastic actor.
