There are already ways out there on the internet to enable tethering for free with the new 3.0 OS. They may or may not be legal though.

Yeah, I understand that...that was beside the point of the comedy in the way it read though.

Also, ATT is saying that tethering support will be available later this summer for $55 a month.

I have a hacked 1st generation on T-Mobile, but just switched last night to AT&T when I upgraded to the new 3GS... For those that are interested, I got the new phone from AT&T via the casback feature on bing.com (formerly Microsoft Live Search). I got 35% cashback, making my phone only 129.95.... I was pretty stoked about that. I just checked, and the deal is still active. I also got the confirmation email from Bing a few minutes ago. Make sure you use internet explorer when you do this as firefox doesn't always work. (I'm a chrome guy myself).

From what i have read that's for new lines of service only and not upgrades. Did you upgrade your first generation phone and still get the cashback?

I saw speculation the slowdown is due to search cataloging, or some such thing. I like it, copy paste was a must have too.
