Is it as nice as G. Cataldo's house out there ... that thing is ridiculous.

He's not questioning his credibility that the course was sold.

How could "the public" get into a gated community and what would they say when I pulled into the parking lot with my 97' Nissan Altima, illegal beer in my bag, tee shirt with "the guns" hanging out and jorts on?

I think you could make them think that a '97 is a classic. Maybe you had just added that to you collection.

Re: Glen Oaks Sold
The course will not become public. Kirke isn't going to spend millions of his own money to make that course public when his house is on one of the fairways. I'm sure he'd love to have hackers slicing the ball into his swimming pool.

Re: Glen Oaks Sold
I'm just not sure I can buy this. Why hasn't it shown up in the local media yet? Why would the price tag be so low?
If it is true, I don't think it is unrealistic to see it go public or maybe semi-private (i.e....membership is required for individuals that reside within X miles of the course. For those outside the designated territory, green fees would be allowed). I've seen this type of thing elsewhere. It would probably be something in the neighborhood of $100+ a round plus required cart fee too. It seems to me the winning business model would be to charge enough so that the current members still feel it is exclusive enough to warrant continuing to be a member while opening up a revenue stream from those that could pay to golf occasionally, but don't live close enough to warrant being a member. Additionally, you could open up the course for everyone to pay green fees during the non-peak times of the year (e.g.…late fall) to generate some additional cash flow.

Re: Glen Oaks Sold
I have no clue if it's true, and wonder if so why it's not picked up yet by media. The cash purchase price would be low if there was an "assumption" of debt so that the total cash and debt assumed was a more realistic number.
Hope is not a method. Soon is not a time. -
