Deace and JM killing Bryce Miller

Anyone listen to them kill Bryce Miller this morning for 30 minutes straight?

I was suprised how much they call him out. Basically calling his an out of touch fool.

JM is just mad that Bryce Miller is calling HN 2nd rate compared to the DM Register/print media. I actually think JM had a lot of valid points but it sounded more like a personal vindeta. I listened from 6-6:15am so I didn't hear everything. I think the Register guy kind of said that the DMR doesn't print rumors but JM was pointing out that they wil blog about it on the DMR web site.

Sounds like Joan wants his website to be a valid place for information and sources when he has exclusive/breaking news, when right (Jewell Hampton) , but just a message board with content when wrong on exclusive/breaking news(Jewell Hampton).

They're both right - Miller sent Andy Logue to Hamptons house on a Sunday (or Monday?) to get the story, so maybe that's what Jon was getting on his case for.

On the other hand, if Bryce is going to call Jon 2nd rate or bush league, then maybe he shouldn't have Logue write up a blog about how Iowa is going to be in trouble if Hampton is hurt, and then run it in Sunday's paper, especially when all anyone had heard up to that point was rumor.

Exactly.

If the DMR had done the same thing they would be getting killed right now compared to HN. No one is going to fire JM for getting invalid info.

It sounds like Jewel Hampton isn't hurt like JM reported. At least not as hurt as reported. It's stlll up in the air. Notice how they didn't quote HN.

Hampton says he's OK, but status still hazy - Big Ten - ESPN

Wouldn't surprise me if Miller jumped the gun with exaggerated information, but it's okay...as he said on the KXNO site, he doesn't have to have a standard because he isn't a "journalist".

The guy I work with pays at HN, he's digging up the original.

It sounds like Jewell Hampton has injured his knee. Some accounts I have heard having it being a very serious injury, as in the entire year...another account is less serious but still serious enough to miss time. Either way its not good. Will continue to try and get specifications here.

Until they ask for press passes, want in on media day and want to ask questions at press conferences.
