She'd probably be more into sports if she wasn't always wasting her time eating bananas in front of Mr. Peeble's pet shop. It's Bushbama!

HSs with uniforms still have ways of showing who's got the cash and who doesn't.
No uniform shoes, or earring, etc.
From someone who had a uniform policy - it doesn't do all the things that PTA meetings think it does. You can still pick out the poor kids, and the hot chics are still the hot chics no matter what they have on.

You can look at bookbags and see if people look well off. When you hit high school look into the parking lot. Divisions still exist they are just a little bit more difficult to spot.

Ok, but on the flipside of that, did having the policy actually keep you from "expressing yourself", or whatever other BS reason people give for having a big problem with uniforms?

Dean Wormer was wrong. Fat, drunk and stupid was a great way to go through college (all five years of it). -

Re: school uniforms
My kids have a dress code and I think it's actually cheaper. Certainly not more expensive. My oldest would like to wear more expensive stuff but she's not the boss. I don't have to worry about sending my teenager out the door in one outfit and having her wear something different into the school.
