Today's storm

I looked out of the window and the wind is strong enough it makes the rain look like waves going across the parking lot!

I was looking out my office window on campus and it was pitch black for about 10 minutes. Pretty spooky.

It's pitch black but not raining yet in Johnston. Looks like they are getting pelted north and south of here. As long as it blows through quickly so I can golf at noon.

I think it's spooky here at work. (Big empty church building) Sometimes you can feel the thunder vibrate the building.

Just getting the beginning of it here in Clive. Winds just picked up and the rain is hitting my window pretty hard. Strange looking clouds too.

They said on the radio CR got 1" of rain in 15 minutes this morning. It's stopped for now, but there's another round heading through this afternoon.

I had an annual training where I attended the morning briefing for the corps staff. Every morning for several days, we started by hearing about lightning related injuries. I guess the dry Wyoming ground was being struck, and lightning was traveling around the dry ground, which was bad for guys who chose not to use their cots for sleeping.
