I gotta disagree with you on that one..(as far as rivals), Scout I can make no commentary.
This is wrong. There have been very few times that I have heard something about recruiting here before it was on Rivals. Not saying that Rivals is better, but I don't think this board was necessarily set up for recruiting info. Both boards balance each other out pretty good. I would say Rivals is worth the $10 a month if you want to follow recruiting. If you want strictly Cyclone stories and opinions, then I wouldn't bother.
CR most definitely has more recruiting information. Most information here is pulled of rivals or scouts, or another website. Chris Williams does a decent job of getting some info.
Football is no contest. There is no information on here as far as football recruiting
But that is fine. This website is not build to be like a rivals. It is built to be a message board and it is GREAT at that
I love Rivals for the stories and player profiles....second to none as far as that is concerned. Gotta disagree about getting most of the information from the CF board....although every once in awhile a CF link is provided. A lot less off-topic stuff too if you don't wanna sift through all that on here. I enjoy both CF and CR message boards...but go to CR to read if I don't have a bunch of time to look the large amount of posts on here. Just my 2-cents...that if you wanna keep up with the recruiting that its well worth the money.
Just think of the hundreds of thousands of dollars the athletic department could have made over the past few years if they gave their rivals subscription cash to ISU.
Before this free site came out, I threw my money away at scout and rivals at different times. Donate a little here and there for CF. Save your money at Rivals, and increase your donation to ISU. Just my opinion.
It is sooo easy to keep up with recruiting without hearing some recruit talk about how great each of his visits were. All the recruiting stories are the exact same. I can just look online and see who has committed where and I know just as much as anyone else.
Here is the flaw in that logic, you are assuming
1. They would give the money to ISU.
2. Having seen a lot of donors on that board, I can make the reverse argument they donate more and pay the subscription.
Frankly, based on somewhat statistcal, somewhat guesswork, it is more likely the opposite is true.
