Re: Am I being a bad neighbor
You can move next to us...my wife is so worried about the neighbors that she doesnt like me to mow the lawn or run a table saw in the garage after 9 in case their kids are in bed...let alone the parents

I had a neighbor who used to do that. Told him I get up at 5 each day and he said sorry, but it's the only time he can mow (couldn't miss TV shows I guess, cause he was home all evening). I mowed my lawn the next Saturday at 5am. Never had another problem with it.

I had the same problem a few years ago and put 100 watt bulbs in my motion sensing back yard spotlight thing. I made sure it was on and it only took once for them to run through to get the idea.
I had a friend tell me he had to call the cops on the kids in his neighborhood for screaming. They eventually got tickets for screaming over the allowed noise decibal level. Or so he says.
Best bet is to talk to the parents first.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -

There is really only one valid reason to hate Michigan football, and that is the fact that we taught Notre Dame the game. -

On a serious note, I think it's the obvious answer...talk to your neighbors. Generally people are rational and thoughtful if you approach them politely.

Re: Am I being a bad neighbor
I'd rather have my kids (if I had some) running around outside then sitting in the house watching tv, playing computer etc. As a kid I was always outside playing and my parents weren't out there and I turned out fine.

But that really has nothing to do with the issue at hand......

Exactly! Its definately better than being a video game zombie... My guess is they are just trying to get the most of the last few days before school. Plus, what 13 year old wants to hang out with their parents?
