I knew a guy that would let his 13 yr old son drive from their farm down the gravel road back to their house. One day when his dad was working in the field his wife called and wanted his son home. His son jumped in the truck to head home, took a corner to fast and rolled the truck and it killed him. Tragic deal

I had a farm to market permit when I was 12. Drove our 13 ton straight truck to school and dropped a load of grain at the elevator, parked it on the street across from school, then drove it home again.
Dad pinned two 2x4 blocks on the clutch, brake and gas pedals so I could reach them.
We had lots of kids killed in our class. I believe it was 5 boys out of 31 kids total. But that's the cost of farm work.
