Sampling every food on a stick at the Iowa State Fair
Lindsay Grooters wants to sample every item at the fair that's sold on a stick. There are 55 such items sold at the fair this year.
She said one of the things she was eager to try on Wednesday was chocolate-covered bacon.
She said she's already making plans for what she wants to eat on Thursday.
"Deep fried potato lollipops," she said. "I haven't found those. I'm loving it."

I was thoroughly disappointed to see that the chocolate-covered bacon was, in fact, not in the fair at all, but just outside gate 11? i think.

She might not have put on any weight, but her arteries are hating her...

I want to get Anthony Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern to come try it all out. I think that would be a good show.

It'll catch up to her in time. Maybe not today...maybe not tomorrow... but someday her *** will feel the effects of the fair.

you're all a bunch of nancys ... 55 items on a stick in 10 days? More power too her, but Joey Chestnut would do that in under 8 mins.
Gotta live life!

Can't get that link to open. But another site put the tally at
The count would be tough to nail down, but a conservative guess is around 14,000 calories and 650 grams of fat.
"ummm! Very good."
Spread across 10 days (and presuming that she eats little more, or much healthier otherwise) - that's not really as bad as I thought it would be.
I tried to keep to the "healthier" selection off the fair website. Turkey tenderloin, Chicken Ceasar wrap. None of which was too bad. Quite good actually. Got a regular ol' corndog and a few lemonades (and the obligatory beers Friday night). Tried to get to the pork chop on the stick - but didn't in time.
