I Just Bought a MAC --- Any Tips?
I bought my first ever Mac on Saturday. A 13 inch MacBook Pro. It's fun so far but I'm finding that there is a significant learning curve. Let me ask you all this. Are there any features on this baby that you can all tip me off to right away so it doesn't take me a year to get the most out of this machine? Any tips on the transition?
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Re: I Just Bought a MAC --- Any Tips?
Bought my first one in June, certainly enjoying it a lot. I've found it to be much easier to use and less of a learning curve than I anticipated.
I guess I'd need to know what specifically you are wanting to know before giving any tips.

Learn to use your finder.
Get a right-click mouse, don't use the option+click method.
Enjoy the OS stability and absence of viruses.

Oh, if you're looking at getting a mouse to use with it (this would go for PCs too), I highly recommend the Logitech bluetooth mouse. Great on batteries and works very well. Amazon.com: Logitech V470 Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks (White): Electronics -

Finder on Mac works about 20X faster than PC's... don't get scared now!

Enjoy the OS stability and absence of viruses. You don't need one with the new trackpads. Two-finger right-click.

Learn to love two-finger scrolling. Subtle, but biggest thing you'll notice when you use someone else's PC. Learn the touch pad's capabilities. Four finger Expose, Three finger forward/back. It's the little things that will make it more enjoyable.
Also: standardized keyboard shortcuts, like cmd-Q for Quit, cmd-W for close window, cmd-, for preferences.
