I have Tuesday trash pick up. The Tuesdays after a Monday holiday are prime for an experiment of group dynamics. I set the trash out early Tuesday a.m. At this point I'll be the only one as everyone correctly believes it gets pushd back a day. This begins a chain reaction of fellow subdivisionites to haul their trash out. By noon, when I come home to let the puppy out, we're st 90%.
The same phenomenon occurs when thanking the Cyride driver....

i usually slap the driver in the back of the head, and tell him/her that their driving made me late! Then everyone else jumps in too! Kind of like this clip!
