Flax Seed

Have started adding this stuff to my diet. I usually put a teaspoon of the ground meal in my oat meal every morning. Tastes good.

If you google Flax Seed or Flax Seed Meal you'll find a ton of articles about it's health benefits. Lot's of Omega 3's in this stuff.

I'm using to try to help lower my cholestrol level, but an ancillary benefit has been that my problem with contacts and dry eyes has largely gone away.

Just curious if anyone else has researched the topic?

My parents buy the stuff and add it to their diet. They are still alive, that's about all I can tell you.

I add ground flax seed to some of my foods. I wouldn't say I use it every day though.

Just eat more fish...you get a better collection of the Omega fatty acids than you do with Flax.

Would like too, but just can't get a lot of good fresh fish here in the Midwest. I see this as a good alternative.

I usually consume it in the breads I eat. Extra fiber isnt a bad thing. Balance is always important in any food you consume.

Cyanogenic glycosides in large doses will kill you -- In small doses it will do just about whatever you convince yourself it will do.

Pretty much anywhere that sells health food. Hyvee carries it.

Target sells Blue cornchips w/flax seeds. IMO they are the best chips on the market.

Most any grocery store has it. I get mine in Fareway in the flour section. Ground meal, is supposed to be the "best".

fish oil > flaxseed

That said...eating fish > fish oil.

Just eat 3 servings of tuna/salmon per week and you will get plenty of Omega fatty acids.

Water can do the same thing.....
