Car Seat Lifespan

I don't care, if "they" say to replace car seats after 6 years (or any accident) I'm going to do it. My children's safety is not something I want to mess around with.

I'm not sold on the whole UV degrades them long term. Most of the plastic in the seats is covered with cloth. Really haven't seen any scientific studies supporting that.

Still if you want to error, you want to do it on the side of safety and that's double the case for young parents.

did you even hesitate for a second when you ordered the seatbacks for your season tickets?:confused: Did you ask anybody's opinion? No you bought them because it was the right thing to do. Spend the $50 for a new seat and some peace of mind.:yes:

I figure any car seat is a upgrade from what I rode in as a baby... which was nothing! No car seat laws back in the 70s and early 80s...

Some of the local area Police Departments have folks trained to inspect your car seat and show you how to properly install it in your vehicle. They'll do it without charge, just call ahead to make sure that person is working when you can go there. Good luck!! :smile:
