Re: Things gas stations wont tell you
If you read the comments below the article, it sounds like a lot of these claims by this "journalist" are B.S.
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice? Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this. -
Re: Things gas stations wont tell you
I worked at a gas station for 3 years during college in Ames.
One was labeled a Texaco, one was an Amaco, and it was the same gas from the Heart of Iowa Co-op.
Inside pricing of stores is usually pretty set. Back then candy bars had a suggested retail from Farner Bocken. But there were products like Hostess, Little Debbie, and Frito where it might have been 99cents but we were paying 74 cents apiece.
You think that $8 is a ton for batteries but they are a ton for the station to buy too. I wondered sometimes why we even carried some of that crap. You'll easily outsell that spot it takes up with food or booze.

Unfortunately, this article is typical of what you will read in MSN Auto. Never has so much been written by those who know so little. They spew garbage and are never held to the fire. Only the most naive would take their opinion as gospel.
