I turned mine on weeks ago. Frankly even if it was just me I would have. Without much sun to warm things during the day it wasnt staying above 70 and would have been dipping into the low 60s at night and that makes my throat hurt to sleep in. Aside from that I have little kids that don't stay covered up and would be completely freezing! I maybe made it 2-3 weeks with no AC or heat on.
I'm still running the AC down here (it's been on since late march I believe). Checked the weather before I went to work at 6 this morning and the temperature was 80 with 95% humidity. Heat index will probably be between 95-100 again today. Anybody want to trade climates?
Thank god my girlfriend is like me and hates paying heating and A/C bills!!!! My heat will go on once the temps go below freezing (in order to protect my plumbing), if i get cold ill put on a sweatshirt.
I normally can deal with the cold in the house. In fact I usually love it, but with kids and a wife, I cant be selfish. Plus our house has some of the ****-iest windows youll find anywhere, so the air gets in like no other. Heat is on.
Our apartment hasn't turned it on yet. I slept with my window open last night.
Green hills for thy throne, and for crown a golden melody/Ringing in the hearts of all who bring thee love and loyalty/Dear Alma Mater, make our spirits great True and valiant like the bells of I-O-WA STATE!
I caved in sometime last week. Only turned it up to about 66/67 at night though and down during the day which it seems to maintain a temp in the mid 60's still without the heat kicking in. Even in the summer I hate using the AC too, usually only have it around 77 when I do so I haven't had the AC in in quite awhile lately. hate to say it but I think we're at that point the heat will have to be on nearly every night from here on out. Goodbye MidAmerican bills that were in the $70 and $80 range! I will miss you until this spring :(
