I had a shih-tzu growing up and my wife and I have a shih-tzu now. They have the best personalities and don't shed. They might be a small dog but they aren't the yipping type. We keep her hair short, not like the "show dogs" that shih-tzu's are portrayed as at times.

My wife even started a Facebook page for our dog. Sadly (for me) she almost has as many friends as I do.

I can't condone this behavior, especially if your wife posts as your dog and says "My mommy thinks such and such".

Do what we did when I was a kid - wait for a stray to show up at the farm, feed it, take care of it for a couple years until it gets run over, repeat.

Don't feed the big strays - You have to dig a bigger hole to bury them.

Well.......that's as close as people have been able to get to recreating the real thing. Of course the real ones have fur, their teeth aren't yellow and no blue anywhere on them. Back legs are longer too.
