Re: Puppies
What are your accommodations and what are you looking for in a dog?
-
Re: Puppies
Depends on if you want an indoor or outdoor dog, a small or large dog, a energetic or lathargic dog, etc...
Please be more specific on what you want?
I have owned Alaskan Husky's, Shar Pei's, Pit Bull's, Saint Bernard's, and Chow Chow's and they have all been good dogs but it is what you want them for specifically that will narrow it down.

Re: Puppies
How much space do you have?
How much time per day are you dedicating to exercise, walks, play, etc.
Do you want a small quiet lap dog?
Will it be an outside dog? i.e. in a kennel.
Do you have kids?
Lots of things to consider before choosing the best breed for you.
Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears Chuck Norris pajamas. -
Re: Puppies
Huskies can be fun, though they need a lot of room to move around

Bassett Hounds......Not the easiest to train, but by far one of the best dogs to have. Bassetts like to be outside, but they also like being in the house. Very, very good with kids. Sweet dogs.
Although, I've also had the best luck with bassett rescue dogs, so I'm not as familar with puppies.

Re: Puppies
I had a lab/boarder collie mix growing up. Great dog from the humane society, but we had a big yard. Depends on the set up i guess. I have always been a fan of bigger dogs. Labs, retrievers, and huskies. Not great dane or mastif huge, but bigger dogs.

Re: Puppies
Vizslas.
There are no other worthwhile dogs.
Forewarned. High energy is understating the situation. Kinda clingy, extremely senstitive and affectionate.
Pretty easy to maintain. Not many health issues. Very clean and low odor.
