Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
Has anyone every used this product, or one like it before?
Motorola MOTOROKR S9-HD Bluetooth Stereo Headphone (White Box) at TigerDirect.com
I need a bluetooth headset (no, not so I can be a ****** and wear it around all the time thinking I'm cool) for conference calls and when I'm in the airport traveling for work. I used to have a Plantronics one that was just a single earpiece, and it worked pretty well. However, since the Blackberry has a music player too, I figure I can leave my mp3 player at home now and just put my music on my Blackberry and have everything I need right there.
Thanks to anyone who provides constructive advice.
Re: Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
I had this until recently when I seemed to have lost it. I loved it for all the reasons you stated. The nice thing about the MP3 player on the blackberry is that you can listen to music and when it rings it'll automatically pause the MP3 player then answer the call and when you are done with the call it'll turn the music back on. Well worth the money I thought. I plan to buy another one.
Re: Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
Why not try something like jabra bt8040 or something similar. This is the one I have, and it has a2dp profile for music.
If you don't mind waiting, I bought a motorokr s9 for about 20 bucks on ebay. It was shipped from hongkong though.
Re: Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
Just out of curiosity, how's the sound quality and noise cancellation on that Jabra. For me, I'm more looking more for headphones that would also work for phone calls.
I'll check out ebay, but I'm always leery about buying stuff like that on there, especially when it's shipped from overseas.
Re: Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
Jabra BT8040 works great for me, and I like not having to switch between headset and headphones. I got it almost 2 years ago. I'm sure they have a more advance headset with a2dp profile now.
I did get my s9 from hongkong, although it took like 2 weeks.

I had the previous pair of the Rokrs (black and red). For whatever reason, in NYC the damn things cut out at every intersection. I don't know if it is a safety feature of if there is interference from the traffic signals somehow. It's pretty annoying. I also don't love the way these fit, they are a bit awkward and not terribly comfortable or stable. Maybe the new ones are better. I do like going wireless when I drag my fat butt out to run...

I wonder if any stores have these in stock where you can try them before you buy them.

That's weird. I don't suppose you have a feature on your phone that "dings" when it doesn't have a signal anymore? That might cause the music to stop since the phone would be dinging you to inform you of the loss of signal. Just a thought...
Re: Bluetooth Headset / Headphones
I bought these a couple weeks ago. They are great for phone and occasional music but the sound isn't as good as I hoped it would be. I was hoping to use them for running, mowing, etc... but for the sound tradeoff I'll stick with my Shure earphones. I'm going to sell them on ebay.

I like my music to be nice and clear with a good sound, and most of the companies that make these are headset companies, not audio companies. Maybe if Bose came out with a pair they'd be better. Of course, they'd probably be $250 too, so out of my price range anyway.
