Re: Who do you have your home and auto insurance with?

Had State Farm for autos since I was a kid. has paid everytime. We hit deer with a vehicle yearly. Many of our friends had insurance canceled. Ours will never be since I bought a rider for $50 several years ago that they could never cancel us so feel fortunate for that. Our house is with our bank as they use to have the loan.

I wonder how many people ever actually leave USAA? They are just incredible to work with.

Re: Who do you have your home and auto insurance with?

i have liberty mutual for auto insurance.

they're cheap. premiums and otherwise. i've had two accident's in the last eight years. when an uninsured driver was at fault, and i was carrying only liability and uninsured driver coverage, they were adversarial. when i was at fault, and had full coverage, they low-balled me on the replacement value of my car and paid out several times the value of the crappy 20-year old car that i rear-ended (no injuries).

i guess you live and learn. i expected my insurance company to be on my side. STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
I was a victim of a series of accidents, as are we all.

Re: Who do you have your home and auto insurance with?

I'm with State Farm for both home and auto. I think I'm paying a bit more than I would somewhere else, but I know the agent and I've been happy with the overall service. I'm actually in the middle of a claim for water loss. The situation was a little iffy but the people involved were very helpful and I'm extremely happy with how things turned out. I'm tempted to switch insurers to save some money on premiums, but I don't think I will since State Farm has had my back.

Before we were married, revkah had some other insurance company (don't remember which one), purchased by her parents through a local agent. We had to use it once, and got run around after run-around, delay after delay. It was a real nightmare to work with, and her family had been with that agent for a good 20 years or more.

It's not the local agent that matters. It's the company that you deal with.
I haven't had anyone able to beat the prices they offer either, as long as you can handle doing business by phone or internet they are great.

Allstate. Great agent to work with and great prices. I've shopped a couple of times and have never found anyone that could beat them on price.

I use Shelter because my agent gives me a cold one for the ride home.

If you live in the Des Moines area, go with Middendorf Insurance.

Been with IMT/Wadena for a long time. I've shopped State Farm and Farmers, and they couldn't touch them. IMO they have a better risk pool because of a lack of exposure to earthquakes & hurricanes. Very little spent on advertising as well.
Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.

I can't figure out what I really need to pay for either. Safety glass I don't think I've ever had, never had a windshield replaced but I have it on both now. Accident forgiveness and minor violation, don't know how much that helps me either. :)

American Family Insurance. I have my auto, home, umbrella, and life insurance with them. They are a little higher but, like everything else, you pay for what you get..
