    Re: New South Park

IMO, South Park is not what it once was. It still has funny episodes and funny moments within episodes, but I haven't seen what I consider to be a consistently good season in a very long time.

If you look back circa Seasons 8, 9, 10, nearly every episode is a classic. For the past two or three years, I haven't even been able to remember what happened in most episodes a week or two after they've aired.

I still like it and watch it every week, but it's not like it used to be for me.

Liked the episode last night, laughed my butt off.

The new season has been good... the best one was Butters as a Pimp! Love this show staying good for so long.

I have to agree with you almost entirely, I think it could have something to do with growing up, or maybe they are running out of great ideas. I can imagine after over 12 years of making episodes that it can get harder to keep it fresh.

Really? I've been impressed with how well the show has held up over time. Not every episode is great obviously, but that's a pretty high standard, and really I don't remember them all being great when the show was younger either.

It has to be incredibly hard to write 20 or so episodes a year about the exact same characters in the exact same town who never age. I think South Park has done better relative to the Simpsons. Just my opinion of course.

When you say "growing up" do you mean the writers or the audience. I'm 38 and I think it's hilarious.
