Re: Drake student with .500 BAL
Erickson's mother told cops that her son had sent out text messages "stating that 'they' were making me do full cups of Everclear and that he had already done 5 beer can shots."

Re: Drake student with .500 BAL

Good god, how did he not die? That is big trouble for the leadership at that fraternity, I remeber they always told us that the President's of houses could face jail time if caught hazing pledges.

When I was in a house, I beleive the law was that the highest ranking officer present during an incident like this could have "the house's" criminal charges brought against them personally.
I remember our presidents getting tickets for noise, etc...nothing too major luckily.

But the frats will tell you this kind of hazing doesn't go on and no one forced the kid to drink that much... -

Re: Drake student with .500 BAL
I understand peer pressure is a power thing, but how does someone not step in and question if this was a good idea? There has to be some kid, somewhere in that house that might have considered that this kid was probably getting too drunk for his own good, and maybe should cut in off at 2 cups full of everclear. Granted they were all loaded, and granted I lived with some serious dumb ***** when I lived in a fraternity, but I still would like to think that someone would have intervened at some point.

Anyone drinking a full cup of everclear is a bad idea. Why that is even something someone would think of as fun/funny is insane.

blood alcohol content nonetheless fell short of levels previously reached by drunk motorists with BACs like .72, .69, and .55. -

Seriously, how did he live?

Re: Drake student with .500 BAL
It's sad how a few rehtards give a bad name for all. This Fraternity (it's a joke to even call them that) should be punished to the full extent. Everclear?? that's just stupid judgement.
This kid is lucky to be alive and hopefully he recovers fully.
