I love Grinnell - they were the only college to recruit me for football out of high school. Then I heard about their unique play style with platoons and averaging 8 seconds per shot attempt and I want to play for them now!
Anyhoo, I can't wait for this season to get going and play against some better competition. Hard to tell how good we are while destroying exhibition teams.
I'm really optimistic about this year, but we've got a lot to prove before we start talking rankings (see other post) or post season.
I do feel we've upgraded at every position either through individual player improvement over last year or new talent coming in. I don't think we're the deepest team yet, but we're definitely better than last year. We were getting run off the floor in second halves of games last year because of our lack of depth. If Gilstrap turns out to be the player we think he is and someone emerges as shooter, I expect CB to have an even bigger year if teams can't key on him all day.
That being said, we've still got some tough teams on the preseason schedule and the Big 12 is tough as always.
