Joe Lunardi (who I respect a lot) doesn't have ISU in the 65 team field or in the first 8 left out. I guess we need to earn our respect on the court. And it should be fun to look back on these kinds of predictions when the seanson is over.
These guys usually have credibility- until they start trying to talk about a team that you're very familiar with, and then you find out that they have no clue.
There are always multiple teams every year that emerge throughout the season.
I'm confident that ISU will be one of those this year.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.
Let's just work our way up - Let's hope we win the State Title, then let's see hat happens after that... As many know, I have been fairly critical of Coach since he got here. He now has his team. I plan to give him a chance and see what happens. Let's hope we go for a few offensive rebounds this year vs. send 5 guys back on the first shot and maybe press once in awhile...Go State!

Based on our production during the last 3 years, I'd leave us out also. I think the heat is on McDermott to get us to at least .500 in the Big 12.
My expectations are for an NCAA bid this year. I see that as entirely possible given the level of talent that will be on the court. The team has one NBA first rounder (Brackins) and another who at least has pro potential (Gilstrap). If the backcourt can come together, this has the makings of a very strong team.
Do you think we'll beat Grinnell College this year?
I try to be realistic. Grinnell's a tough team with an eccentrically electric style of play. Totally unique compared to everyone we'll play in the MAC Conference.
We all know that McDermott doesn't like scores over 40, so this game takes him so far out of his comfort zone that he likely won't be able to make a successful adaptation.
So, I wouldn't get hopes to high for that game, and I'd encourage all my fellow Cyclone fans to keep their hopes reasonable as well. It just makes it a lot easier to deal with those folks out east in Grinnell after they win. We just need to know our place in the world.
