Neapolitan Style Pizza in Ames
A new pizza place featuring my favorite style of pizza will be opening in Ames. Can't wait!

I will never understand how Ames can apparently support such a ridiculous number of pizza places, especially since at least half of them are high-end, but I am really glad we can! You can't throw a rock in this city without hitting an awesome pizza joint, and this looks like it'll live up to that standard. These people really have their act together; I hope they get business down there, since they're literally next to Old Chicago.

Too many places today offer "yuppy" pizzas, as my brother would say, with everything in the refrigerator piled on top but which lack true mozarella cheese and a good tom. sauce plus those seasonings I mentioned.

Take a look at the menu. Their goal is to create a pizza that you would find in Naples.

As cycloneG said, read everything on their site. They clearly know what they're doing. They're even using actual mozzarella di bufalo, which is about as "true" as you can get.

There is a guy that has a tow behind cart that I've gotten a pizza before in the bowling alley lot. It was pretty good stuff. I imagine that this will be a similar style.

The Neopolitan-style pizza place that was located in N. Grand Mall didn't last long. I'm not a fan of that style...big floppy, thin pieces. Hopefully this new place is better.
re: Neapolitan Style Pizza in Ames
The place in N. Grand wasn't really Neapolitan style. At least, it wasn't to me.

I *think* it may be the same guy.

Is this place open yet? I couldn't find it on their website as it looks like they are located near the place where the mongolian bbq was supposed to be.
re: Neapolitan Style Pizza in Ames
I'm sorry, I read the title and couldn't help but think of a pizza with Strawberry, vanilla, and chololate ice cream on it.

Anger rising, want pizza in WDM, rumble rumble.
Sorry, that was my stomach, it's not particularly articulate.

Which part did you not like: the big, the floppy, or the thin crust?
I have had pizza in Italy and I dare say American pizza is better. They seem to skimp more on toppings in Europe than in the states.
