Does he still live next to your parents?? That describes Ryne pretty well. My parent moved back to Iowa when I was about a year old so I don't really remember ever living by him. But we would see him every once in a while when he was in town.

Re: Cyclone Memorabilia you own?
I don't have any ISU game worn stuff - I wish I had at least one jersey. I do have a couple signed footballs and a ton of old programs and media guides back into the 70's.
My favorite piece of memorabilia (since I've been going to IndyCar races for almost 50 years) was personally given to me by Jack Arute and was his ABC Sports firesuit he wore one year as a pit reporter at the Indy 500.

Wow that's pretty cool. My dad has a couple of letters from Stan Fox after he had his accident in '95. They had some correspondence going back and forth while Stan was in the hospital. Man that wreck was crazy.

That was an awful accident and I was in turn 2 when he and Eddie Cheever banged into the wall in turn one. Stan's car was coming my direction spinning wildly and as it got closer I could see the front was torn off and his legs were hanging out of the front of the car. Unbelievably the car was heading toward the outside of Turn 2 wall but it never hit it in such a way as to crush Stans legs.
You probably know that Stan was killed in a traffic accident a few years later in Australia.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Cyclone Memorabilia you own?
-A shirt signed by Hoiberg, Michalik and that entire senior class in a framed glass frame
-couple basketballs signed by Stinson, Sullivan Blalock and others minus Vroman since he was not with the team at the time
-Very large coaches shirt with the new logo purchased off ebay when the athletic department had ordered for Wayne Boldt and he no longer needed it being unemployed
-signed picture of Dan McCarney and my family in front of the Jack
