Said it to a judge during his sentencing I think.

He was great, but that entire movie was made because of Clooney's reactions.
I remember that RDJ quote. I loved it.

I remember that RDJ quote. I loved it. With RDJ I always go back to Chaplin. He was so good in that movie. It's where he broke from being the kid in Wierd Science, Johnny B. Goode, etc. to a serious actor in my mind.

He was absolutely amazing in Chaplin - and I'm pretty sure that was at a time when he really should barely have been able to walk, let alone give an Oscar-worthy appearance. I really liked him in Zodiac, too - that's a pretty underrated movie.

If you have the time and netflix streaming video, check out the movie Surveillance. You can see how Bill Pullman is doing these days. Bizarre movie, it was written and directed by David Lynch's daughter.

Re: Daniel Day Lewis
DDL is the best actor today because he is the consumate pro. He doesn't cash in or do stuff for "fun". He takes his craft seriously and it shows. I'm a big PT Anderson fan so I thought There Will Be Blood was amazing. DDL is really something else.
The prouduct that PTA and DDL put out was intense, it reminded me of Scorcese and De Niro on Raging Bull.

I just think he needs to do a few more films before I jump on his band wagon. I don't dislike him at all. Just not a super fan of his yet and there seems to be a lot of those around when he hasn't made a ton of films yet.
List of his films.
There Will Be Blood (Good)
Punch Drunk Love (Very Good Movie)
Magnolia (Terrible, ruined PTA for me)
Boogie Nights (Very Good Movie)
Hard Eight (Never seen it)

Re: Daniel Day Lewis
He's only been briefly mentioned once in this thread, but I think Brad Bitt is often overlooked as an actor. Before you get out yer sarcasm pirates, he's had some really great roles:
Fight Club
Seven
12 Monkeys
Benjamin Button
Snatch
Meet Joe Black
Legends of the Fall
River Runs Through It

River Runs Through It I don't disagree with you. 12 Monkeys was awesome.
Brad Bitt made me laugh. Sounds like someone's porn name.

Brad Bitt made me laugh. Sounds like someone's porn name. He seems to be very diverse. Anywhere from Burn After Reading to FIght Club. He plays a wide variety of roles and is very good in most. I would say his performance in Snatch was very underrated. I really think over the last 5 years or so he has elevated himself to the top of list, or at at least close to the top.

Guys like Pitt don't get the acclaim they should as actors because their lives in the tabloids ruin it.

Hard Eight (Never seen it) And everybody is a critic. Number of films has nothing to do with talent. My favorite director is Stanley Kubrick and he made 16 films his entire career. River Runs Through It It's funny, I'm not a Brad Pitt fan but I thought he was good in a movie that didn't make your list, Kalifornia.
