Red Light Camera

Oh for crap's sake. Got a ticket in the mail from Clive for doing a right turn on a red (pinkish! with no one coming towards me!) light.

Has anyone fought such a thing and won?

It tagged my husband as the driver (registered in his name) but I was driving. He has more tickets than me right now ... anyway to move it to my name rather than his?

Probably what frost me the most is the statement at the top that says 'it *appears* you have run a red light...' What the fudge - 'appears'?????

The violation does not go against anyone's record since they can't prove who was driving.

Its ********, when you can tell way, way out from many intersections whether you're good to make the turn or not.

Camera tickets work the same as parking tickets. They go to the registered owner of the car and do not go on your driving record or cause any change in your insurance.

A guy I work with got a ticket at the same intersection. He was going to fight it because the camera took the picture while his break lights were on. But the video clearly shows he rolled the light.

I think they are BS. Tickets should only be given by a human officer. Camera tickets are basically one more step towards loss of freedom in the USA. They should be illegal to use.
